There are some pretty obvious reasons why I don’t enable comments on my blog. But just in case they are not as obvious to you as they seem to me, here are three good reasons.
- I don’t want this site to be some sort of message board and I don’t want to police content. Or even evaluate it, frankly.
- Due to the nature of depression, negative comments are bound to affect me far more than positive comments, which I will immediately discount.
- I don’t want to know who is reading this. Honestly, if there was a way I could stop the site from keeping track of visits I would. I would prefer not to know whether I have 10,000 readers or 0.
